Welcome to our Diocese of NJ MDG Task Force workspace!

The mission of our Task Force is to create a Diocesan-wide movement to promote awareness of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to work with congregations to develop plans for their achievement.  The Task Force’s focus on people facing extreme poverty throughout the world is based on our baptismal covenant “to strive for justice and peace among all people.”   Here is a report on our activities in 2011.  Members of the Diocese are welcome at our meetings.

With the blessings and support of the Bishop and Diocesan Council, we are in the midst of a NetsForLife Campaign throughout the Diocese.  The Campaign will continue through our Diocesan Convention in 2013.  Our goal is for the Diocese of New Jersey to raise enough money to purchase 10,000 nets at a cost of $12 each.  That cost includes the education and community work needed for successful use of the nets.  We are very excited about this opportunity to join together as a Diocese to achieve a greater good, to spread the love of Christ in the world by preventing the spread of malaria.  We are more than halfway towards our goal!

Please participate in this Campaign.  Join in our big fundraising event-- have a team from your parish be a part of the Soles for the Harvest Run on October 27, 2012.  Publicize the run in your bulletin with this insertSign up and collect pledges or sponsors for the run.
