Welcome to our Diocese of NJ MDG Task Force workspace!

The mission of our Task Force is to create a Diocesan-wide movement to promote awareness of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to work with congregations to develop plans for their achievement.  The Task Force’s focus on people facing extreme poverty throughout the world is based on our baptismal covenant “to strive for justice and peace among all people.”   Here is a report on our activities in 2011.  Members of the Diocese are welcome at our meetings.

With the blessings and support of the Bishop and Diocesan Council, we are wrapping up a NetsForLife Campaign throughout the Diocese.  The Campaign will continue through our Diocesan Convention in 2013.  Our goal is for the Diocese of New Jersey to raise enough money to purchase 10,000 nets at a cost of $12 each.  That cost includes the education and community work needed for successful use of the nets.  We are very excited about this opportunity to join together as a Diocese to achieve a greater good, to spread the love of Christ in the world by preventing the spread of malaria.  We have raised over $100,000 so far!  Here is the Nets sticker template.

Please participate in this Campaign.  For more information on the Nets for Life Campaign you can watch this video and read this overview.  All of the resources you'll need can be found at www.inspirationfund.org.  Information about physical materials you could use in your campaign is in this documentHere is an insert you could put into your church bulletin about the campaign, anda letter to the editor you could use.  If you have any questions about the campaign, please contact the Co-Chair of the NetsForLife Campaign in the Diocese of New Jersey, Janine Kleber
